Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through diasporatohome.com, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Who we are

This website, diasporatohome.com, is run by Diaspora To Home, a business operated by Lorraine Wright MBE ("we", "us"). We help people in the Ghanaian diaspora buy, rent, build and sell property in Ghana. For the personal information described in this policy, we are the "controller": we decide why and how it is used.

Questions about your information: info@diasporatohome.com.

2. What information we collect

What we hold depends on how you use the site.

  • When you contact us or ask for a guide, call or callback: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, where you live, and what you tell us about your plans (for example budget, timeline, property type and locations).
  • When you book a call: your name, contact details, the answers you give on the booking form, and the time you choose.
  • When you sign up to emails or download a guide: your name and email address, and how you heard about us.
  • When you submit a property or ask us to list one: your contact details, details of the property, documents that show who owns it or may let it (for example title or right-to-let documents), and photos. We may check these documents.
  • When you buy something or register for an event: your name, email and phone number. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • When you use our chat assistant: the messages you send and any details you give in them.
  • When you browse the site: technical information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you view. If you are in the UK or Europe, we use analytics cookies for this only if you agree; elsewhere they run without a banner (see our Cookie Policy).

Please do not send us sensitive information such as health details, passport or bank details in forms or chat unless we have asked for it.

4. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the people and companies that help us run the business, and only as needed:

  • HighLevel (GoHighLevel): the system we use for our website, forms, contacts, calendars, email and text messaging, and chat assistant.
  • Google: website analytics (if you agree, where you are in the UK or Europe), fonts, spam protection on forms, and the search box.
  • Stripe: secure payments. WebinarJam: registration for online events.
  • Our listings platform: property submissions are handled on a platform built by Altitude AI and stored with its database provider, Supabase.
  • Developers, agents and partners: when you ask us to introduce you or request information about a development or rental, we pass on the details you gave us for that purpose. They then use your information under their own privacy policies.
  • Video and social platforms: if you play an embedded YouTube video or load an Instagram or TikTok post, that platform may collect information about you under its own policy.
  • Advisers and authorities: accountants, lawyers or insurers when needed, and the authorities where the law requires.

5. Transfers outside the UK

Some of the companies above are based, or store data, in the United States or other countries. Where your information leaves the UK, we rely on safeguards the law allows, such as approved standard contract terms or an adequacy arrangement. Because our work involves property in Ghana, we may also send your details to people in Ghana when you ask us to connect you with them.

6. Marketing

We send marketing only if you have opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to text messages or tell us at info@diasporatohome.com. We will stop promptly.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. We review our records from time to time and delete or anonymise information we no longer need. Records we must keep by law, such as payment and accounting records, are kept for the period the law requires. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we have a legal reason to keep it.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information in certain cases
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • move your information to another provider in a usable format
  • stop using it for marketing, and withdraw any consent you gave

To use any of these rights, email info@diasporatohome.com. We aim to reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would like the chance to put things right first.

9. Keeping your information safe

We use reputable providers, access controls and secure connections (HTTPS) to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please take care when sending information online.

10. Children

Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
